Katherine Regnier Invited to Inspire Students at the University of Washington

Coconut Software Founder and CEO Katherine Regnier is thrilled to have been invited to speak to MBA students on her experience and journey in the tech start up industry at the Foster School of Business’s CEO & Board Governance Class at the University of Washington on May 8, 2019.

How does a young entrepreneur get value from their board? How is their performance evaluated? How can they get the level of feedback and support that they need to succeed? Taking the opportunity to speak with students ready to begin their path in the industry, Katherine will provide insights from her personal experiences and observations that will guide them in their journey. Laying out the framework, processes and best practices of corporate and not-for-profit governance, she will also provide expertise into the real world challenges that current Boards and CEOs face.

By outlining the drivers of success, and the breakdowns that lead to failure, Katherine hopes to inspire these rising stars, giving them the strong foundation they need not just to succeed, but to thrive in this competitive and rewarding field.

About Katherine

Katherine Regnier is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Coconut Software. In 2011, she quit her job at 3-months pregnant to solely focus on Coconut. After 5 years of bootstrapping the company to over a million in sales, everything changed in late 2016. Katherine attended a month long mentorship program in Silicon Valley led by Neal Dempsey. Once completed, she decided to seek venture capital and by 2017, had successfully raised $4.9M and grown her team to over a staff of 50.

In addition to running her business, she is passionate about giving back to Canada and wants to help pave the way for future entrepreneurs. Katherine is a founding board member of Co.Labs, Saskatchewan’s first technology incubator, regularly speaks at events, and is an advocate for women in tech. She believes in continuous learning and surrounding yourself with bright mentors and who have been there, and done that.
