Leadership Team

Katherine Regnier

CEO & Founder

Katherine Regnier is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Coconut Software. In 2011, she quit her job at 3-months pregnant to solely focus on Coconut. After 5 years of bootstrapping the company to over a million in sales everything changed in late 2016. Katherine attended a month long mentorship program in Silicon Valley led by Neal Dempsey. Once completed she decided to seek venture capital. Fast-forward to 2017, Katherine has successfully raised  $4.9M and has grown her team to over a staff of 50.

In addition to running her business, she is passionate about giving back to Canada and wants to help pave the way for future entrepreneurs.  Katherine is a founding board member of Co.Labs, Saskatchewan’s first technology incubator, regularly speaks at events, and is an advocate for women in tech. She believes in continuous learning and surrounding yourself with bright mentors and who have been there and done that.

What do you love about working at Coconut?

Each person at Coconut works FOR our customers, each other, and our investors. I find it extremely rewarding to see our talent and our customers succeed because of what we push to do everyday.

Why should potential candidates consider joining the Coconut team?

I believe in what Steve Jobs said, “We don’t hire smart people to tell them what to do, we hire smart people to tell us what to do.” If you want to have a voice, make a difference, and work with the top leading brands in the world – this is a fabulous place to make an impact.

How do you enjoy spending your time when you're not at work?

I am constantly reading business books and listening to business podcasts – my favourite is the Saastr podcast. I am always looking for ways to improve myself and our company. The way to my heart is a perfect cup of coffee!

Romeo Iula

Romeo leads Coconut Software as the Chief Technology Officer. He completed a Computer Science degree at the University of Saskatchewan and moved on to a senior website developer role at zu agency before joining Coconut Software as Katherine’s second employee and has since played a significant role driving the success of the organization.

What do you love about working at Coconut?

Every day is a new learning experience. The context around the problems we are solving has evolved as the company has grown and it’s a dynamic learning environment to be part of!

Why should potential candidates consider joining the Coconut team?

We put great focus on developing the people we bring on board. How we treat our people and how we carry ourselves as an organization matters just as much to us as making it to our next growth goal. Winning isn’t the only thing that matters, how you win matters!

How do you enjoy spending your time when you're not at work?

I spend a lot of time following trends and dabbling in new technologies. But I also try to make time for disconnecting too and love to spend my evenings exploring the city and hanging out on rooftop pubs with friends. If you can’t keep your mind clear and on the big picture, you will derail yourself!

Mark Ramsay

Mark leads Coconut Software as the Chief Revenue Officer. Prior to this role, Mark has a strong track record of driving results and profitability in leadership roles at CNW (Cision), Solarsoft (Epicor), Eloqua (Oracle) and Datamirror (IBM). What do you love about working at Coconut?

Three things: 1: The culture is great! Everybody comes to work ready to learn and willing to help each other out. 2: We’re united around a strong mission: Helping businesses digitally transform their customer journey and solve a real-world problem that I myself have experienced: appointment booking. And 3: The management team doesn’t lead with a top-down style, but is extremely open and accessible to taking ideas from the rest of the team.

Why should potential candidates consider joining the Coconut team?

If you’re looking to work in a fun environment, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow through mentorship and coaching, you should join Coconut! We are genuinely committed to helping develop the careers of our people.

How do you enjoy spending your time when you're not at work?

Either with my family or on my mountain or road bike. I also enjoy playing goalie on a hockey team.

What do you love about working at Coconut?

Setting a vision and seeing it come to life.

We are a fast-paced organization, passionate about our product and the customers we partner with.

We have created a culture that reflects our diversity and team spirit. Learning fast and challenging the status quo with innovative thinking keeps us connected and creative – in all aspects of the business.

That is what I love most.

Why should potential candidates consider joining the Coconut team?

If you aspire to be part of a team doing something different at the forefront of change, this is the place to be.

How do you enjoy spending your time when you're not at work?

There is always something to do when you live and work downtown Toronto – it’s a lively city full of culture, creativity and diversity.

On any given day, you will find me at a local coffee shop, perhaps an art gallery, and lately I’ve been heading out of the city to enjoy a day hike, finding inspiration in nature for my next oil painting.
