Mihnea Galeteanu joins Coconut Software as VP, Product
Coconut Software is excited to announce the recent hire of Mihnea Galeteanu as VP, Product. Mihnea brings over 15 years of experience imagining, building, breaking, managing and marketing software products of all shapes and sizes. Leading with the ‘why’ rather than the ‘what’, he has led numerous Product teams, implemented successful product management practices and developed new products customers actually want.
Previously, Mihnea worked at Points International as the Director of Strategic Partnerships. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Software from Carleton University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management. He is also currently one of the Directors of the APM Toronto program and acts as a mentor to a number of early stage startups, non-profits and individuals on issues related to Product Management and technology in general.
“I’ve spent my career pushing for ways that technology can help bring organizations closer to their users. Often, what’s considered disruptive technology is in fact technology that gets out of the way of users getting through their tasks (whether it is booking their next adventure or securing their funds for their first home) so they can get back to living. It’s this mission, that of humanizing banking, that as a Product Management practitioner and, more importantly, as a user attracted me to the platform and the unique culture Coconut is building. I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to lend a hand in accelerating bringing this mission to life right here, in Canada!” shares Mihnea.
Mihnea will be leading the Product Management and Design/UX team as we look to expand our offerings in the financial services industry and build the next stage of customer engagement software. He will also be a great resource as we continue to improve our diversity, inclusion, and equality initiatives within our organization. He was previously one of the founders of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion employee resource group at Points, as well as Points for Good through which employees volunteer time and money to local charities. He is also an active mentor for the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council.
After meeting Mihnea, Katherine Regnier, CEO at Coconut, immediately knew he would be a great fit for the role and team, “We interviewed over a dozen candidates and Mihnea really stood out with his experience, values, and passion for people and product. It was an absolute-without-a-doubt-yes. We can’t wait to see the tremendous growth and impact he will bring to the Coconut staff and our customers.”
